The Role

The Sourcing Manager will act as the primary contact with all existing Indian suppliers for all contractual and commercial discussions. This role involves acting as a point of escalation for the business in the case of Supply continuity and compliance failures/risks, and ensuring the right suppliers are in place to deliver cost-effective supply continuity across the Aspire portfolio, under an appropriate contract.

Key responsibilities include delivering strategic Sourcing & Projects, leading agreed benchmarking activities, championing ESG initiatives with Aspire’s suppliers and owning and updating the contract management system.

What will you be doing?

As a Sourcing Manager –you will be responsible for a variety of different tasks including: -

• Monitoring the performance & sustainability of suppliers & improving them incl. the set-up of appropriate structures, meetings, tools & processes Supporting the annual budget process and forecasting processes.
• Create, develop & foster meaningful and strong strategic relationship with key suppliers.
• Responsible for maintaining relationships with the suppliers and ensuring appropriate contractual coverage with suppliers.
• Acting as an escalation point for other departments & Supply Chain within the business & a conduit into the suppliers for any business or stock out risk.
• Supporting the Operations management team, wider business and direct or in-direct subordinates to ensure all operational administrative requirements are fulfilled and accurate document traceability is maintained.
• Oversight of key departmental activities incl. Commodity tracking, Know Your Supplier Programmes & Contract Negotiations.

• Acting as designate/signatory for the Head of Sourcing & Projects in these areas in the job summary.
• Approval & acceptance of any CoGs increases the supplier tries to implement as agreed with the Operations Director.
• Maintaining awareness of existing and new legislation/guidance relating to EU and UK GXP (including GMP, GDP, GVP and GCP) for medicinal products; Medical Devices including all ISO activities relevant to medical devices including ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971; Controlled Drugs; Nutritional Products; and General Data Protection Regulations and the UK Data Protection Act. Implementing changes across the department/business to remain compliant with the required legislation/guidance.

The Person

• Desirable – Higher Education in Business Management or similar degree.
• Desirable CIPs qualified.
• Relevant experience in a mid/senior management Sourcing position within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Understanding & experience of Category management.
• Experience and working with RFQ/RFI software and running tenders.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and people skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstratable ability to engage, negotiate, motivate and inspire a global team.
